From a five-point game midway through the first half, Moorhead boat-raced Elk River. Through stifling defense, that repeatedly lead to transition offense, and well-executed half-court possessions, the Spuds built a 16-point lead at the break which they quickly expanded to more than 30 points within minutes of play resuming. They didn't get tripped up by the scoreboard and even as the reserves were sent in the margin barely wavered.
