Sunday Round Up

The Football kept their season going the way it had gone through the first three games. For more about the game, check out the latest Pick Six!

In other Bison action, the Volleyball team continued their winning ways with a third conference win to start that part of the schedule and an eighth straight victory overall. Next up for those ladies is a hosting of Oral Roberts on Sunday afternoon.

The men's Cross Country team had a respectable finish with three runners in the top 15 and a second place finish in the team standings.

Not to be out done, their female counterparts had runners finish second (Melina Kuerschner) and third (Ashley Perez). In addition another of their mates finished eighth while the rest of the runners finished 11th and 15th. That all adds up to a second place finish for them as well. Each of the teams will next compete in two weeks at UND.

The Soccer team continued their upward momentum and reeled off their third straight victory when South Dakota came to town during the middle of the week. It seems like all they need to do is score two goals and they'll roll to a victory. If they had been able to do that during the early part of their schedule they would have had seven non losses. But progress is commendable and also exemplifies why teams schedule non conference opponents early in their seasons. The Soccer team plays out in Denver today before returning to take on Oral Roberts on Friday Night.

The Case Keenum lead Vikings had a second great game. The next one will be the tie breaker of whether they're just better at home or are more a mid tier squad in the NFL. The Lions will be a good test to get that answer!

A disappoint week for MSUM as all their competitors came up short in their various sports.

The Concordia Football team leads the way as they have run their record to 4 - 0. The national attention that started a week ago will only increase if they continue to play the way they have so far!

Beyond the gridiron gang, both soccer teams had good weeks. The Men with a 1 - 1 record and the Women with a 2 - 0 record. Each are below .500 for the year but wins are good and ties are acceptable so they're coming around!

The Volleyball team wasn't so fortunate as they're on a three game losing streak. Maybe the change in the calendar can help them get back into the win column!

No amount of doubt or fire saleing was able to stop the Twins from getting into the post season before their final series of the year. Heading out to NYC to play the pinstripes brings back too many bad memories but with these young players, maybe the future can be better then the past. We'll begin to get the answer on Tuesday night!

Minnesota's other professional Basketball team, ya know the one that makes the playoffs every year, the WNBA finals every year and has won multiple championships, may be experiencing the closing of their championship door and window at the same time. If game 3 is any indication they're aging and slowing down in a hurry. Hopefully I'm wrong and they're able to bounce back in game four but that seems unlikely.
