Horses in SpartanDome

Among Thursday's game options was another chance to see a pair of state tournament contenders against each other. The two teams were on equal footing with each other for most of the first half, with the Mustangs going ahead by five halfway through only to be tied again seconds later. It wasn't until the final minutes of the first half that either team was able to get more of a lead than that as Matt Gooselaw went on a personal spurt to help Sheyenne pull away and Kaleb Larson finished with a triple to make it a nine-point game into the break.

Jalen May answered with a three after halftime but the potential spark was extinguished as Tom Kirchoffner's squad continued to contest shots while launching their own. In fitting fashion, a Michael Nhial slam extended their lead to 20 and it hit 26 after a pair of shots by James Hagen & Kaleb Larson. North closed the gap over the minutes that remained but the difference had become too wide.

North was lead by Jeremiah Sem with 20 points while Jalen May finished with 15.

With five made threes Kaleb Larson finished with 22 points. He was joined in double figures by Michael Nhial (15) & Matt Gooselaw (12).
