26 years and a week. That's how long it had been since Moorhead State's soccer team last got an outcome in their favor against Mankato.
Whether you care about soccer at all or not, that's wholly deserving of lead-off mention!

All three of the college football teams also clocked-in with their own impressive wins
NDSU's was predictable but still necessary
Moorhead had a tougher time against lowly SW MN but hit their stride in the second quarter & didn't lose the reins
Concordia started with a 28-8 first quarter and also cruised to victory over Macalester!

From the prep level, as brackets were being finalized, Sheyenne had one of the most prolific scoring performances the state will see as they dropped 70 on Mandan. The 'defense-optional' didn't just apply to the Braves as the Mustangs were hit for seven touchdowns. If they can bring it like that in the postseason then the top two seeds in AAA could make for an even more epic championship!
The area will have three more teams going for the AA title as Horace got #4 Dickinson while North & South remain on track for a rematch of their classic meeting a month ago.

Fargo's hockey team continued it's unblemished beginning to the season with a pair of wins over Green Bay. It won't take too many more for them to be securely positioned in the driver's seat to the top seed in the playoff. It's already looking like Sioux Falls & Tri-City will be the toughest tests for them.

With a few days remaining until game one, Minnesota announced it's opening day roster. There wasn't much by way of surprise in the group but the depth appears to be as good as it has ever been in the franchise's history!
So long as one of their core players doesn't miss another 50+ games they should be in business to meet & exceed the views of those who don't keep close tabs on the team!
