With six skate dates left before the playoff the Force extended their lead on the League with a sweep of Youngstown. It was a return to form for the boys following a minor swoon, losing two of three to Tri-City last weekend.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

In one of the other last events of Winter, Fertile/Beltrami advanced to the Class A state championship. They were no match for two-loss Cherry (which came against AAAA schools) but it was a special season nonetheless!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

North Dakota put it's own bow on the basketball season as the All-State and miss & mister basketball were announced. Ashton Safranski was the top vote-getter from the area while future Bison football player Isiah St. Romain was runner-up for the boys.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Dave Richman might want to inquire about his interest as the roster was once again depleted of some members, with Andrew Morgan being the most notable member to put his name in the transfer portal.

It's much easier said than done but being that the era is not going to change back to what it was, he and his staff will have to devise a way to compete earlier in players' tenures - because the best ones will seek to play at higher-profile institutions before they're done.

The same hasn't necessarily been true for Jory Collins as the core of his team has remained intact the last two years. The reward for that continuity is a second-round appearance in the NIT, Monday against Montana. As possibly the last game at home, there will be free entry to the game so there is no excuse for it not being a capacity crowd!

The hoop-dreamin' extended to the big club as the postseason-bound Wolves weathered their worst stretch of injuries this season, taking care of Draymond Sunday eve and coming one win shy of 50 for the season!

The season is at a point of trying to enjoy it in the moment but thinking more and more about April, May and June.

Which just leaves a record that was set when Steve Keller was named League Indoor T & F Coach of the Year for the eighth time!
